The magazine TELVA began publication in 1963, and continues to be published today, consolidated as one of the reference titles and the dean of the women's press in Spain. The name of the magazine comes from Etelvina, a character from Asturian literature.
Its first issue went on sale in the fall of 1963, published by SARPE, and a biweekly frequency that it maintained until 1989, when it became a monthly publication. It was born in the midst of Spain's modernization process. It was inspired by major international magazines (Vogue, Elle) to target middle- to upper-class women with professional and family interests. It maintains a strong presence both at traditional newsstands with its monthly printed paper edition and in the digital sector through its website and social networks.
