Magazine dedicated to high society and entertainment: Theater, Art, Fashion, Film, Society, and Sports.
-First stage (1924–1938): The first issue of the magazine hit the streets on November 6, 1924, in Vienna. During these years, it established itself as the highest-circulation cultural and lifestyle magazine in Austria, publishing a total of 468 issues until Austria's annexation by Nazi Germany.
-Second stage under the Nazi regime (1938–1943): Following the annexation in March 1938, the publication was "Aryanized" and its name was changed to Wiener Bühne (Vienese Stage). It remained in circulation until it was canceled in 1943 due to World War II restrictions.
-The relaunch (1945): Following the end of World War II and the fall of the Nazi regime, the magazine immediately attempted to revive Vienna's free cultural spirit, publishing its first post-war issues in late 1945.
Format: During this period, it adopted the name Die Wiener Bühne, combining it with the subtitle Österreichische Revue (as seen at the bottom of the 1948 cover you sent). Its focus was heavily influenced by the arrival of international artistic trends after years of isolation.
