- Founder: Ben Shlyen.
- Started as "The Reel Journal" which focused its attention on the local business in Kansas City.
- Shlyen acquired or founded several more small exhibitor papers serving other US markets like:
"Exhibitor's Forum"
"Motion Picure Times"
"Movie Age"
- In 1932, their titles all changed to BOXOFFICE, though they continued to be published in regional editions for decades to follow.
- Changed title to "Boxoffice Pro" in April 2011.
- Merged with FILM JOURNAL INTERNATIONAL January 2019.
